Upon a visit back home to the island of Oahu, I came upon these Koi. As I watched these large carp gracefully swim about the water, I was captivated by their dragon-like fins and ancient appearance. I noticed the play of light that reflected both on the surface of the water, as well as along the bottom of the pond. It was visually amazing. I felt like a child again, seeing something so beautiful and was in utter awe of such a sight.
It made me stop for a moment and contemplate, "Had I been missing this all along? I had walked pass this Ala Moana Koi pond multiple times in my adult life, but obviously with the hustle and bustle of 'to do's' and 'agendas', I missed this jewel of moment to stop and enjoy such a sight." It made me think about what else I had missed or what else I was taking for granted, and I became grateful for that moment in time.
